Roman Way Action website on-line

A network of local residents from Boley Park and adjoin St John’s ward are objecting to the planning application for the siting of an 11.8 m mobile phone mast and base station off Roman Way (WS14 9YW).

With strong links to http://www.boleyparkaction.org/ and many other residents, we have supported this and other groups in previous successful objections to masts elsewhere within the Staffordshire area with notable success!

Of similar opinion to ourselves, they are not against mobile phone telephony or similar devices, but are for the safe, sensible and sensitive siting of mobile masts and their infrastructure.    We are united in our campagin to oppose this application.

Information about the application and the process has been communicated locally in newspapers and leaflet drops together with a full list on the Roman Way Action website.

Mast proposed on Roman Way near Broad Lane

Boley Park Action GroupWe object to plans to site a 3G mobile phone mast on a Lichfield housing estate, close to residents, due to cause a significant visual intrusion and loss of amenity.

The mast is due to be a dual-user Vodafone and O2 unit of 11.8 metres housing two sets of three antennas, with additional equipment cabinets. This is planned to be located on the north side of Roman Way near the junction with Broad Lane.

You have until February 24th to object to the proposals. It is important to note that this is Prior-Approval, which means that the planning application automatically receives approval unless there is sufficient weight of objection against it.

A significant number of local residents are extremely concerned about the adverse visual impact of this installation. Trees were recently planted and grassed areas developed to encourage wildlife and improve amenity of the site. This mast will be visible from many houses in the Lichfield area, towering above houses and trees.

Have a look at our ‘How to Object’ page for details of who to send your objection to.
